“…Unfortunately, the layers were not sufficiently adhered to the substrate. Later, we replaced aluminum meshes for stainless-steel ones, as the stainless-steel meshes are stronger than aluminum meshes after anodization or chemical treatment, applied before their coating by metal oxides precursors [20]. The plasma-enhanced physical vapor deposition (PVD) using radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering and high-power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) in Ar+O 2 atmosphere was applied for coating the meshes covered by Co 3 O 4 thin films (about 300 nm in thickness).…”

“…Recently, transition metal oxides, such as Co 3 O 4 , Mn 3 O 4 , CeO 2 , and NiO, have been widely studied due to their low costs and excellent performance in eco-friendly catalytic oxidation of VOCs [15][16][17][18]. Because of its excellent reducibility, rich electrophilic O species (O ads , O − , or O 2− ) and oxygen vacancies [19][20][21][22], and low formation enthalpy, Co 3 O 4 has been widely studied as a catalyst for VOCs degradation [23][24][25].…”

“…Moreover, thin lm of active phase deposited on metal meshes enables its high utilization in catalytic reaction due to low in uence of the internal diffusion of reactants and products (Jiratova et al, 2019). Cobalt and manganese oxides show high catalytic activity in various oxidation reactions and the catalysts supported on metal meshes can be applied in any kind of a reactor especially that designated for fast reactions (Dvořáková et al, 2019). The Co-Mn oxides were investigated as catalysts for the total oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOC) using various compounds, such as ethyl acetate and n-hexane (Tang et al, 2014), ethanol (Jirátová et al, 2009), toluene (Lamonier et al, 2007), and propanol (Castaño et al, 2015).…”
