Preparation of Oleyl Phosphate‐Modified TiO2/Poly(methyl methacrylate) Hybrid Thin Films for Investigation of Their Optical Properties

Abstract: TiO2nanoparticles (NPs) modified with oleyl phosphate were synthesized through stable Ti–O–P bonds and were utilized to prepare poly(methyl methacrylate)- (PMMA-) based hybrid thin films via theex situroute for investigation of their optical properties. After surface modification of TiO2NPs with oleyl phosphate, IR and13C CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy showed the presence of oleyl groups. The solid-state31P MAS NMR spectrum of the product revealed that the signal due to oleyl phosphate (OP) shifted upon reaction, ind… Show more

“…1). The poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) properties as: bactericidal properties, glass transition temperatures, modulus, mechanical, optical properties [9] have been significantly improved by introducing nanofillers. Such procedure allowed to overcome its drawbacks (low mechanical resistance, high bacterial contamination, monomer leakage or thermal perception) as denture base material.…”

“…Alkyl groups are partially displaced by breaking the P À OorC À Obond to yield ab ound phosphate,w hich then reacts further to produce apolyphosphate film. [29] Herein, we present asimple method for coating ahydrophobic alkyl phosphate layer onto the fluorosilicate phosphor K 2 SiF 6 :Mn 4+ (KSFM). [28] TiO 2 nanoparticles that were modified with oleyl phosphate through the formation of stable Ti À O À Pb onds have been utilized to prepare poly(methyl methacrylate) based hybrid thin films with excellent optical transparency (refractive index, n = 1.86).…”

“…Polymethacrylates: Include, Polymethyl acrylate (PMA), PMMA, HEMA and pHEMA. Hybrid PMMA-dioxide systems have been reported widely (Table 1 and 2), focusing mostly on PMMA-SiO 2 (Soni et al, 2018), PMMA-TiO 2 (Fujita et al, 2015), PMMA-ZrO 2 (Gad et al, 2018). An organic polymer PMMA has synthesized with zirconium oxide nanocrystal by Otsuka and Chujo (2010) to get polymerized material PMMA/ ZrO 2 of above 95% visible light transmittance and increment in RI to 1.534 when applying 38.8 wt.% ZrO 2 content.…”
