Preparation of polyurethane acrylate‐based titanium dioxide pigment and its use in blue light‐curable ink

Abstract: Polyurethane acrylate‐based titanium dioxide was used to prepare blue light‐curable inks as both a white pigment to replace the original white pigment and as an oligomer. The polyurethane acrylate‐based titanium dioxide was fabricated using a two‐step method. In the first step, the titanium dioxide was grafted with γ‐aminopropyltriethoxy silane, and the grafting process was studied. Second, amino‐modified titanium dioxide was used to prepare polyurethane acrylate‐based titanium dioxide, which was then used to … Show more

“…Therefore, further studies on the applicability of this specific metal are highly desirable. Titanium is well known to be used as titanium dioxide, a powerful photocatalyst present in inks [61,62] and sunscreens [63,64]. As a catalyst, it can be used, for example, in polymerization methods to synthesize polypropylene [65].…”

“…Inspired by polymer dyes, a new idea about blue light-curable integrated pigment was innovatively proposed as per the processing properties of blue light-curable pigment-based inkjet printing. In our previous study [18], polyurethane acrylate-based titanium dioxide (PU-TiO 2 ) was used to prepare blue light-curable inks as oligomers and white pigments to replace the original white pigment. Furthermore, the influence of TiO 2 modification on the properties of PU-TiO 2 was examined; the results demonstrate that, for blue light-curable ink, PU-TiO 2 was suitable.…”
