Preparation of Siloxane-Containing Vaterite ⁄ Poly (Lactic Acid) Hybrid Beads by Electrospraying and Ha-Coating on Their Surfaces

Abstract: Bead-shaped siloxane-containing vaterite (SiV) / poly (L-lactic acid) (PLLA) hybrid beads with ca. 40 -130 µm in diameter were prepared by an electrospraying method. The beads included pores of ~1 µm in diameter. SiV particles were embedded in the PLLA matrix. The beads containing 20 wt% of SiV showed the releasabilities of Si 4+ and Ca 2+ ions in a dilute acetic acid solution of pH 4.
