Preparation of Sodium Alginate Porous Materials Using Colloidal Crystals as Templates

Abstract: Monodisperse P(St-MMA) colloids with diameters of 200 nm was synthesized successfully using emulsion polymerization firstly and then manufacture corresponding colloidal crystal which is used as template. Using fiber optic spectrometer to research the colloidal crystals before and after infiltrating sodium alginate and the reflection spectra shows the change of band gaps with Bragg law. The porous materials were studied using SEM.
