This paper describes the authors' research on the conversion process of inorganic ion exchangers from inorganic wastes, which are unutilized resources. Among various raw materials such as inorganic wastes and their conversion processes, this paper introduces the conversion process of waste crushed stone powder and aluminum dross into inorganic ion exchanger by alkali fusion treatment. By applying alkali fusion treatment to waste crushed stone powder and aluminum dross as raw materials, inorganic ion exchangers with high cation exchange capacity (CEC), including A-type zeolite and X-type zeolite, and hydrotalcite with anion exchange capacity were successfully synthesized. By controlling the reaction mechanism through the mixing ratio of waste crushed stone dust and aluminum dross, A-type zeolite and X-type zeolite could be selectively synthesized.
