Presentación del debate: Impactos sociales de COVID-19: un nuevo reto para la sociología

Abstract

La pandemia COVID-19 ha convulsionado el mundo, y la sociología debe ser protagonista en la lectura e interpretación de estos movimientos, contribuyendo, además, a la construcción de propuestas a los problemas que se vislumbran. Más allá de un fenómeno epidemiológico y sanitario, la pandemia es también un fenómeno sociológico, y las medidas que se propongan también han de serlo. Esto supone que no solo hay que indagar el agente causante de la pandemia de naturaleza biológica, sino también los determinantes sociales de la salud, y los efectos de las medidas adoptadas en la vida social.
