Pressure Study on Pipe Transportation Associated with Cemented Coal Gangue Fly-Ash Backfill Slurry

Abstract: Cemented coal gangue-fly ash backfill (CGFB) slurry has commonly been used to control subsidence damage caused by underground coal mining. This paper discusses the characteristics of CGFB slurry fluidity in its pipe transportation. A general description about the components of the CGFB is provided involving the percentage of composition, particle size distribution (PSD) and rheological performance. The CGFB flow characteristics of the slurry pipeline were simulated in a straight pipe and 90° elbow pipe, respec… Show more

“…At the same speed, the S0 has the largest pressure loss, followed by S2, while S1 has the smallest pressure loss. This is because the pressure loss is mainly affected by pipe length, velocity, pipe diameter and plastic viscosity in horizontal pipeline [47]. When pipe length, pipe diameter and flow rate are constant, the pressure loss is mainly affected by plastic viscosity [48].…”

“…Filling Material Ratio e performance of grouting filling materials is the key to the success of the separation grouting filling mining technology [24]. Based on the difference of filling materials, the common coal mine grouting and filling mining technologies can be divided into coal gangue backfill, grouting and filling technology, total tailings cementing and filling, waste rock construction waste cementing and filling technology, and high-water filling technology [25].…”

“…However, relatively little attention has been paid to tracking the evolving trends and characteristics of coal slurry pipeline transportation technology based on objective data. Until now, most research concerning coal slurry pipeline transportation technology has focused on modeling (Das et al, 2020;Singh et al, 2020;Yin et al, 2021), method optimization (Singh et al, 2018;Yang et al, 2019;Singh et al, 2022), and literature review (Mishra et al, 2019;Nunes, 2020;Das et al, 2021). And the research methods are usually based on experiments, surveys, case studies or expert reviews.…”
