“…Although the pathomechanism of fatigue is unclear and likely multifactorial, in chronic diseases, subclinical inflammation with elevated pro‐inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin‐1 (IL‐1), soluble tumour necrosis factor (TNF) receptor type II, TNF, soluble IL‐6 17 and IL‐12 18 have been suggested as a trigger.
