With the increase of age and senescence, multiple organ functions of the elderly people show a declining trend. As the largest organ of the human body, the skin is also undergoing the aging process, mainly manifested by the reduction of the functions of the skin barrier and accessory organs. Thus, the elderly are more prone to skin problems, which greatly affects the quality of life. In the following, the authors introduced three common skin diseases in the elderly people including senile pruritus, atopic dermatitis and eczema, together with the current status and challenges in diagnose and treatment of them.
