“…In cross breeds of HF and Jersey, the prevalence ranged from 3 to 5%. The breed wise prevalence of brucellosis is statistically significant is in good agreement with other researchers (Akbarmehr and Ghiyamirad, 2011;Khurana et al, 2012;Patel et al, 2014;Bakhtullah et al, 2014).…”

“…October 2014 | Volume 2 | Issue 10 | Page 558 (Patel et al, 2014) thus leading to an annual economic loses to the tune of US$ 58.8 million (Kollannur et al, 2007). The economic losses is because of abortions, stillbirths, reduced milk production, infertility (McDermott and Arimi, 2002) and revenue losses due to international trade impediment for animals and their products (Corbe, 2006).…”

“…Seroprevalence of bovine brucellosis have been assessed at different times (Kumar et al, 2009;Chand and Chhabra, 2013;Patel et al, 2014). An overall seroprevalence of 27.95% (341/1220) and 18.11% (221/1220) of brucellosis was observed in different agro-climatic regions of Punjab by RBPT and MAT as a confirmatory test in this work which is comparable to 37.38 and 36.45% (Barbuddhe et al, 2004), 58.9 and 55.2% (Genc et al, 2005) were positive for Brucella antibodies by RBPT and STAT, respectively in Goa.…”

“…Many other studies have also reported comparable prevalence of the disease throughout the country. For example, a prevalence of 11.9% of bovine brucellosis has been reported from Gujarat, western India (Patel et al, 2014). Similarly, prevalence of Brucella antibodies by an avidin biotin enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay was found to be 12.1% (true prevalence, 11.2%) in cattle and buffalo populations in Punjab state of north India (Dhand et al, 2005).…”
