“…Contrary to the high prevalence of hypodontia, supernumerary teeth are less frequently found in healthy individuals (0.5-3.8%). The prevalence of supernumerary teeth in our sample was 4.4%, slightly higher than in recent studies [24,25,26]. The etiological pattern of sex distribution in association with supernumerary teeth is the opposite of hypodontia [1].…”

“…Congenital absence of maxillary lateral incisors is relatively frequent worldwide. The global prevalence of tooth agenesis, excluding third molars, varies from 2% to 10%, and it occurs mostly in mandibular second premolars and maxillary lateral incisors . Excluding third molars, two of every three congenitally missing teeth in oligodontia patients are mandibular second premolars or maxillary lateral incisors .…”

“…Dental anomalies may be found in both temporary and permanent dentitions, and they may be represented in number, size, and shape. 1 The prevalence of abnormalities in temporary dentition ranges from 0.4% to 8.1%. 2 As for the talon cusp, the literature 3,4 indicates rates from 0.06% to 7.7% in permanent dentition and 0.07% in temporary dentition.…”
