Abstract:Background: Magnesium (Mg) has recognized cardio-protective properties, and hypomagnesemia is common in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Low serum magnesium has been implicated in cardiovascular mortality, but results are conflicting and the pathophysiology is unclear.
