Abstract: Background: Several recent studies have shown an increased incidence of hypothyroidism in many chronic inflammatory diseases, especially rheumatoid arthritis, and others studies have shown a relationship between hypothyroidism in patients with rheumatoid disease and the degree of disease activity.
