“…This study showed a lower prevalence of MetS compared with data from Asia and Western countries which ranges from 2.4-10.1%. 16,[27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34] This inconsistency may be due to the difference in the definition used in diagnosing MetS as some of the studies applied the NCEP-ATP III 35 definition while some of them applied the IDF criteria which are similar to our study. Another possible explanation could be due to the age difference.…”
