Prevalence of Zika virus neutralizing antibodies in healthy adults in Vietnam during and after the Zika virus epidemic season: a longitudinal population-based survey

Abstract: Background : Between 2016 and 2019, 265 cases of Zika virus (ZIKV) infection were reported in Vietnam, predominantly in southern Vietnam. In 2016, a case of ZIKV-associated microcephaly was confirmed in the Central Highlands, and several members of the infant’s family were confirmed to be infected with ZIKV. The study aims to determine the level of immunity to ZIKV in the general population of the ZIKV epidemic region. Methods: A total of 879 serum samples were collected from 801 participants between January 2… Show more

“…The evaluation of the antidengue virus activity of the n ‐hexane, ethyl acetate and n ‐butanol extracts were performed according to the Plaque Reduction Neutralization Test (PNRT) method, which were described in the literature. [ 10, 11 ] In this paper, the extracts were tested against four denge virus serotypes DENV‐1, DENV2, DENV‐3 and DENV4, propagated in BHK‐21 cell line. The test was started at concentration of 500 μg/ml, diluted in log 2 to the corresponding concentration of 250, 125, 62.5, 31.25, 15.625, 7.81 and 3.90 μg/ml.…”
