Prevenção de incapacidades em hanseníase: realidade numa unidade sanitária

Abstract

ABSTRACT. In Hansen's disease, the th ird part of advanced incidences or non treated cases exhibit some patte rns of physical incapacity; besides that prejudice and beliet gene r ated by deformities which the patients may present if they do not get a correct treat ment. Which basis on th is pro blematical question of th e disease a group of professionals composed of medicai doctors, nurse s, physical therapist, occupational therapist and social worker made a-study of the incapacities of the Hansen's disease patients through a detail ed physical exam. This study intended to identify sensory and motor injuries of the face, upper and lower limbs. This study also develops a research about the necessity to systematize the assistance given in a public health center. INTRODUÇÃONa hanseníase , a ocorrência de incapacidades atinge níve is elevados, apesar de existirem medidas a serem desenvolvidas a nível ambulatorial que pre vinem a ocorrência das mesmas ou, ainda, evitando · que estas atinjam graus avançados, levando ao re gistro das deformidades. Na tentativa de se desenvolver um trabalho na unidade sanitária, objetivando a prevenção de incapacidades dos pacientes de hanseníase , optou-se primeiramente em realizar o estudo em questão , procurando-se deste modo um diagnóstico real da situação dos inscritos no Sub programa de Cbntrole da Hanseníase .Foi possível desenvolver-se esta pesquisa devi do ao intere sse de um grupo de profissionais que atuam na área de hanseniase. Assim, após a apre sentação e discussão dos dados, serão traçadas as linhas de atuação que vêm sendo desenvolvidas.

Qualidade de vida em hanseníase: análise comparativa entre pacientes da região Amazônica com pacientes da região do ABC, São Paulo, Brasil

“…9 The higher mean scores found in the Amazon may be explained by the fact that in this region the disease is not diagnosed in its early phases because of the poor access to healthcare services and the lack of trained professionals, with the result that the patients progress to more severe forms of the disease (multibacillary forms).
