“…Esto ha dado lugar a la recomendación de realizar un cribado antenatal para detectar la presencia de colonización por EGB en las gestantes entre las semanas 35-37 y, en el caso de estar colonizadas, utilizar la profilaxis antibiótica intraparto (PAI) para evitar la transmisión madre-hijo 3,4 , lo que ha revertido en una disminución drástica de los casos de infección neonatal precoz por EGB 1,2,5,6 .
