“…However, asymmetrical shape of the face may appear as interesting [21]. It is therefore important that the patient receives appropriate information concerning the possible postoperative deviations in shape from perfect symmetry after posttraumatic rhinoplasty [22]. In the current study, we obtained good results of corrective surgery of the external nose, which for most of the linear parameters, were similar to healthy Caucasian population.…”

“…The β-adrenergic blocker propranolol may help reduce the "postsurgical dissatisfaction syndrome" in some patients. 17 This effect could perhaps be explained by a dampening effect on potentially occurring ASD hypervigilance symptoms. Delusional thoughts, which are one possible symptom of ADS/PTSD, may be treated with neuroleptics.…”

“…A preliminary study in rhinoplasty patients indicated that propranolol given immediately after splint removal in anxious, unhappy rhinoplasty patients may prevent a postsurgical dissatisfaction syndrome. 7 It is as yet unknown if anxiety caused by postoperative swelling and bruising may be approached in a similar fashion as in anxious, unhappy patients immediately after splint removal. The number of studies aiming at the prevention or reduction of swelling and bruising clearly indicates that the surgical community is both aware of the clinical relevance for the patient and the potential to minimize this unwanted side effect of surgery.…”
