Prevention in Sweden and Cuba: Implications for policy research

Abstract: Sweden and Cuba, each in its own way, have made radical and comprehensive changes in their economic, educational, and social systems. In the process, they have corrected many contradictions about health promotion, which has, in turn, enhanced the effectiveness of their primary prevention programs. There is much for health care planners and public policy strategists to learn from these two social and economic experiments.
