Preventive effects of statin therapy in coronary artery diseases: Current controversy

Abstract: S tatins inhibit hepatic biosynthesis of cholesterol where they prevent mevalonate formation, and inhibit 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl-coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) (1-2).
