Primary care dentists' experience of treating avulsed permanent teeth

Abstract: Introduction: An avulsed permanent tooth is one of the few true emergencies in dentistry. Children who suffer this injury require urgent dental care and prompt follow-up care. “…Developing an MCN could clarify the situation and ensure patients receive the care they need, from the correct personnel, in a timely manner. The MCN will act as a referral pathway between GDPs, satellite clinics and secondary care services, 9 allowing patients, where appropriate, with slightly more complex TDIs to be managed in the short and long term more locally with suitably trained staff 10,12,17 .
