Primary gastrointestinal lymphoma in Japan

Abstract: Polymer particle agglomeration and melting causing sheet formation in fluidized bed reactors have been reported to occur during olefin polymerization. The cause of this deleterious sheet formation has not yet been established. Infrared and optical imaging were used to study the temporal temperature and size during polymerization of individual commercially active catalyst particles supported on a nylon mesh. Experiments conducted at 2100 kPa confirmed theoretical predictions that the temporal temperature rapidl… Show more

“…The incidence rate of ETL is 0.25% of all kinds of lymphoma in Japan. ETL mainly occurs in elderly people, and the median age of ETL patients is 60 (12) (6). Since gluten allergy is very uncommon in Japan, it is extremely rare that celiac sprue is a basal disorder of ETL in our country (14,15 …”

“…The involvement of the colorectum (5-10%) and esophagus (<1%) is rare. In 5-15% of cases, the involvement of multiple sites in the gastrointestinal tract is observed (table 1) [3]. Histologically, 70-80% of cases are extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma or diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).…”

“…Primary gastrointestinal lymphoma comprises only 1-8% of all gastrointestinal malignancies [1,2,3,4], while it is the most common type of extranodal lymphoma, accounting for 30-40% of all extranodal lymphomas and 5-20% of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas [3,5]. The most frequent primary site is the stomach (60-70%), followed by the small bowel (20-30%).…”

“…Lymphomas of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) account for 4% -20% of all NHL and their incidence has been steadily increasing [3]. The stomach is by far the most common site where up to 75% of all GI lymphomas occur, while lymphoma accounts for only 25% of smallintestinal tumors and less than 0.5% of colorectal neoplasms [4]. The vast majority of GIT lymphomas are of B-cell lineage with low grade extranodal mucosaassociated lymphoma (MALT) being most common, followed by diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, Burkitt lymphoma and mantle cell lymphoma, the later often presenting as lymphomatoid polyposis [5].…”
