Primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and breast cancer. Case report and review of literature

Abstract: Breast cancer is a common disease and so is ITP, but coexistence of both diseases is rare. As per definition given by International Working Group, primary immune thrombocytopenia is platelet counts below 100 G/l, with no other cause of thrombocytopenia and no clinically evident secondary form of immune thrombocytopenia. 80% ITP is primary and 20% ITP is secondary ie due to certain states like for example connective tissue systemic diseases, anti-phospholipid syndrome, lymphomas , infections , drugs etc.ITP can… Show more
