Primary Pancreatic Lymphoma in a Patient with Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young type 3

Abstract: Primary pancreatic lymphoma (PPL) is an extremely rare disease which occurs in pancreas, accounts for less than 1% of extra-nodal malignant lymphomas and 0,5% of cases of pancreatic masses. We report the case of PPL in a 15 year-old boy suffering from Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young type 3 (MODY3) diagnosed at the age of 1 year.

“…The versatility of 18 F-FDG PET/CT extends to its ability to discern glycometabolic changes within lesions prior to observable anatomical alterations, rendering it an invaluable asset for baseline assessment and the assessment of lymphoma treatment efficacy (5,6,36). In our study, two instances (9,20) unveiled smaller pancreatic lesions that evaded detection via CT and MRI, accompanied by comparatively lower FDG uptake than their larger counterparts. Notably, among our cases, ten subjects underwent post-treatment 18 F-FDG PET/CT evaluations, uncovering two cases of recurrence within the pancreas and peripancreatic lymph nodes.…”
