Primary visual cortex excitability is not atypical in acquired synaesthesia

Abstract: A wealth of data suggests that psychedelic drugs elicit spontaneous perceptual states that resemble synaesthesia although it is unclear whether these different forms of synaesthesia share overlapping neural mechanisms.
