Primate Erythroparvovirus 1 Infection in Patients with Hematological Disorders

Abstract: Primate erythroparvovirus 1, commonly referred to as Parvovirus B19 (B19V), is a DNA virus that normally results in a mild childhood infection called “erythema infectiosum”. Besides respiratory spread, B19V can also be transmitted through transfusions, which may result in persistent anemia in immunodeficient hosts.
