Primeros registros de coyote (Canis latrans) en Campeche, México

Abstract: Resumen.

For example, it has been documented that C. latrans has spread to regions where its presence had not been recorded previously, mainly in areas where the forest has been altered (Hidalgo-Mihart et al 2013).…”

“…3). Some authors have noted that cleared agricultural land may create suitable habitat for C. latrans in the Yucatan Peninsula, including Belize (Sosa-Escalante et al 1997;Platt et al 1998;Hidalgo-Mihart et al 2013). Although dense forested regions have been postulated to be unsuitable for Coyotes, populations in northeastern North America often exist in forests while hunting in adjacent rural regions (Crête et al 2001;Richer et al 2002).…”

“…Through interviews with the local people, at least 8 other species were recorded (Sánchez-Hernández et al 2001). In the TLFFPA and its surroundings, Rangel-Negrin et al (2014) documented 11 medium-sized and large mammals, and biodiversity expeditions have confirmed other species such as Tayassu pecari (Link, 1795) Contreras-Moreno 2012, Hidalgo-Mihart et al 2015), Spilogale angustifrons Howell, 1902(HidalgoMihart et al 2014a, Panthera onca (Linnaeus, 1758) (Hidalgo-Mihart et al 2015), Canis latrans Say, 1822 (Hidalgo-Mihart et al 2013), as well as populations of introduced species such as wild boars (Sus scrofa Linnaeus, 1758;Hidalgo-Mihart et al 2014b).…”
