Abstract

A new efficient method for calculating the inductance value of a spiral inductor with special emphasis on the nonuniform current distribution on the metallic trace is described. Based on the partial inductance method, a unified approach for modeling the eddy current and skin depth of spiral inductor has been presented. Our proposed method is validated with experimental results, and good agreement has been obtained.
