Prison Food

Abstract: The procuring, making, serving, and eating of food are fundamental human practices. Yet, researchers have until recently, with a few notable exceptions, largely neglected the importance of food in prison. This entry introduces the recent research on food and foodways in prison and summarizes the main findings.
