Abstract: Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) are small organic acids exist in the fish gastrointestinal tract, mainly acetate, propionate, and butyrate. These SCFAs are produced through anaerobic fermentation of dietary non-digestible carbohydrates by gut microbes.
