Abstract:Patients with achondroplasia often present with anatomical abnormalities and altered cardiopulmonary physiology that significantly increase their perioperative risk for cardiovascular and respiratory complications (e.g., worsening ventilation-perfusion mismatch, imminent desaturation, difficult airway).
