In dealing with terrorism cases in Indonesia, the government must develop a strategy to eradicate terrorism, be it the ideology of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) or other terrorism ideologies through awareness of the importance of human rights and deepening of the values of the Indonesian nation. This study uses a legal norms approach, namely identifying the applicable laws and regulations. The values of maqashid al-shari’a can be used as a rehabilitation concept through the changing the thinking of convicted terrorists. The maqashid al-shari’a approach will provide an understanding of Islamic Law that is more practical, realistic, flexible, and humanist. The values that can be applied in the rehabilitation process method adhere to the current maqashid values formulated by Jasser Auda, which are the development of the classical maqashid al-shari’a values developed by al-Syatibi.

Introduction: One of the health problems in Indonesia that has not been resolved is the HIV pandemic or Human Immunodeficiency Virus or a virus that attacks/infects white blood cells which causes a decrease in human immunity. To combat HIV/AIDS, treatment is performed through antiretroviral drugs. But in fact, antiretroviral drugs are often scarce which causes a decrease in the welfare of people with HIV / AIDS in Indonesia.Research Objectives: This study aims to discover and analyze some policies on administering antiretroviral drugs that are fair for people with HIV/AIDS in Indonesia.Methods: This study uses a qualitative method with a normative juridical approach. The data used are secondary data consisting of primary and secondary legal materials. The data was collected through a literature study and analyzed qualitatively. Conclusion:In making policies, the implementation of antiretroviral drugs must be centered on PLWHA and use the PLWHA as policy actors. The policy of delivering ARV drugs that are centered on PLHIV is expected to produce fair policy outputs and then have implications for the high welfare of PLWHA in Indonesia, this is in line with the formation of a policy based on the study of responsive legal theory initiated by Nonet and Selznick. Responsive legal theory requires that the law that has implications for PLWHA, should always be sensitive to the needs of PLWHA, especially regarding the availability of ARV drugs.

Pesticide Residues Detected in Selected Crops, Fish and Soil from Irrigation Sites in the Upper East Region of Ghana

Crops, soil and fish from irrigation farms were investigated in the Upper East Region of Ghana. Questionnaire was administered to collect pesticide use information from farmers, and tomatoes, okro, pepper and garden eggs as well as fish and soil samples were collected and analysed using Gas Chromatography-Electron Capture Detector (GC-ECD). The results were compared with standard acceptable Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs). The results indicated that up to 35.9% of 50 respondent farmers frequently cultivated tomatoes. 50% of the farmers have been using agrochemicals for the past 5 years, with glyphosphate as the most commonly used (42%). 65 % of the farmers indicated that information on proper use or handling of agrochemicals was obtained from colleague farmers. High levels of organochlorine residues (2.232-5.112 ng/g) were found in okro and garden eggs from the Tono site, and also pepper and tomatoes from Pungu site. 6 pesticides residues were found in 5 varieties of tomatoes samples analysed with Lindane and Aldrin having the highest concentration of 0.00069 and 0.027 μg/g respectively. 4 soil samples contained detectable levels of β-HCH and α-Endosulfan (organochlorines), while all 6 samples had one or more traces of 10 organophosphate pesticides. Chlorpyrifos was widely available and in quite high levels. 21 organochlorine residues were detected in tilapia and mud fishes, 17 in fishes from the Precast yard water. Residual concentration of Aldrin and Cis-heptachlor (1069.7 ng/g and 780.7 ng/g respectively) in tilapia from the Tono dam was noted to be above the acceptable limits.
