Problématique des plantes envahissantes au sud du Togo (Afrique de l’Ouest): apport de l’analyse systémique paysagère et de la télédétection

Abstract: Description du sujet. Show more

“…Increasing productivity was characteristic of some landscape patterns of the study area in the present work, whereas in other areas this has shown decreasing associations with levels of stress [6]. Such dynamics may occur due to seasonality, the passage of time, climatic conditions, different land use patterns, invasive species, wildfire, and pests [63,64].…”

“…Protecting ecosystems from invasive alien species is a crucial global environmental issue (Akodewou et al,2019). Invasive alien species are living organisms that originate from a geographical region other than the one to which they are introduced, and which have the capacity to establish and spread aggressively in their new environment (Zachariades et al, 2002).…”

“…This preference for disturbed areas is largely attributed to their ability to spread rapidly via light seeds and adapt to variable conditions (Goodal & Erasmus, 1996). Land use has a signi cant impact on the distribution of these invasive plants (Akodewou et al, 2019). For example, the conversion of forest land to farmland creates ideal conditions for the spread of Chromolaena odorata due to deforestation and soil disturbance.…”

“…Declining soil fertility is a consequence of the overexploitation of land, which is driven by a growing population and the prevalence of inappropriate practices (e.g., slash and burn, short fallow periods and the preference for monocropping systems) [2][3][4]. Land degradation and population growth in sub-Saharan Africa have also led to farmland encroaching on forests [5,6]. To overcome this decline in crop productivity, water-soluble mineral fertilisers and synthetic pesticides are increasingly being used.…”
