Abstract

Proceedings N-acetylhexosamines are absent from the semen, except that of man which contains 20 to 40 mg/100 ml seminal plasma.The data presented confirm the widespread occurrence of N-acetylhexos¬ amine in the accessory sexual secretions of Australian male marsupials and suggest that this material is a characteristic constituent of the semen of marsupials but not of other mammals.
