The foundry industry is responsible for the production of several potentially polluting and hazardous compounds. One of the major sources of pollution is the use of organic binders for the manufacturing of sand cores and sand moulds. To address this problem, in recent years, the use of low-emission products, known as inorganic binders, has been proposed. Their use in ferrous foundries, otherwise, is limited due to some problematic features that complicate their introduction in the manufacturing process, as often happens when a breakthrough innovation is introduced. In light of this, the aim of this work is to provide a Green Innovation Practice (GIP) to manage the introduction of green breakthrough innovations, as previously described, within an existing productive context. This practice was applied to better manage the experimental phase of the Green Casting Life Project, which aims to evaluate the possibility of using inorganic binders for the production of ferrous castings. After describing the state of the art of GIPs and their application in manufacturing contexts, the paper described the proposed GIP and its application to a real case consisting of testing inorganic binders in a ferrous foundry.

This paper focuses on the application of Value Stream Mapping (VSM) within the context of the electronics manufacturing industry, aiming to improve its operational efficiency and financial performance. The study thoroughly analyzes costs, integrating VSM to justify economic benefits. Data was collected directly from the manufacturing floor to create a current state map, enabling the identification of non-value-added activities and sources of waste. Areas for potential improvement were pinpointed to reduce or eliminate these inefficiencies. By implementing these proposed enhancements, the paper outlines a future state map for the electronics manufacturing process and presents the results of applying Value Stream Mapping. Comparing the current and future state maps, the study reveals that embracing Lean principles, in conjunction with Value Stream Mapping, can significantly benefit the electronics manufacturing industry. Specifically, it can reduce production lead times by 67.84% and decrease costs by 8.69%. This research underscores the financial implications of adopting Value Stream Mapping, illustrating that by combining Lean principles with VSM, industries can offer rapid customer responses at lower costs, a crucial factor for improving competitive performance in the existing market landscape.

Mobile applications are computer programs that have many benefits, such as making it easier forusers to obtain and disseminate information. The mobile application can also be used to help patientsconnect with hospitals. Some of the problems faced by patients are the difficulty of contactinghospitals to register for treatment or consultation, also the difficulty of patients finding informationabout doctor's practice schedules and information about polyclinic and existing facilities so patientsmust come to the hospital to find out that information. Based on the analysis of the problem, it isproposed making a mobile application with some features needed by patients. The design andmanufacture of this application is divided into three parts, namely database using MySQL, webapplications using PHP and mobile applications using Android. Based on respondent data, it can beconcluded that this application has several uses for respondents.
