The purpose of the study is to identify the necessary characteristics of technological means of didactic support for collaboration within the framework of practical translation courses. The thematic dominants identified on the basis of a sample of publications in the Scilit and OpenAlex databases are dis-cussed, among which are the search for the optimal ratio of educational tasks aimed at the formation of a translator’s technological skill set, and the actual professional skills for creating functional translation in working languages; contradictions between market requirements and curricula; the importance of online communication in professional and educational translation; the possibility of creating didactic support tools for practical translation courses, etc. The scientific novelty of the research is determined by the pre-sented didactic scheme, which implies the step-by-step integration of technological solutions into the practice of collaborative translation. In accordance with this scheme, the TranSource web platform is introduced
at the intermediate stage of training before switching to the professional translation tools. Among
the functional features of the platform are the real-time work mode and the absence of restrictions on the rights of translators and managers, which are noted as advantages. As a result, taking into account the highlighted dominants, the established principles of using automation tools in practical translation courses are described, as well as a brief description of the new TranSource web platform is provided.
