Process-oriented risk assessment methodology for manufacturing process evaluation

Abstract: A process-oriented quantitative risk assessment methodology is proposed. Risks involved in a process and the corresponding risk factors are identified through a novel objectiveoriented risk identification approach and analyzed qualitatively in the Process FMEA. Critical risks with high RPN (risk priority number) values identified in the FMEA are incorporated in the process model for further quantitative analysis in the simulation environment. To this end, risk measures of the critical risks are determined for … Show more

“…Requirements are not explicitly defined and neither a procedure nor a tool exist. [46,[64][65][66] introduce and further develop the Business Process-Risk Integrated Method (BPRIM) comprising: a conceptual unification between the business process conceptual-model proposed by the ISO/DIS 19440 and a risk conceptual-model; a modeling language extending the ISO/DIS 19440 constructs with constructs for risk modeling; and a synchronized lifecycle that forms a procedure for integrated business process and risk management. The BPRIM lifecycle phases are supported by eleven viewpoints.…”

“…To address this research gap, this paper introduces a multi-view modeling framework in which all risk and business process concepts are unified and kept consistent at all times. Instead of starting from scratch, we build our contribution on top of our previous works [46,[64][65][66]72]. In these works, we introduced the Business Process-Risk management-Integrated Method (BPRIM).…”

“…It is obvious that the manufacturing risk evaluation plays an important role in the selection of alternative resources, and the CMP should choose an alternative manufacturing resource to lower the manufacturing risk, and to reduce the probability of the entire production process destroyed again come down to the lowest level. The risk evaluation methodology should provide accurate quantitative evaluation results associated with alternative manufacturing resource using modeling, simulation, and decision-making approaches (Shah et al, 2016). In this article, we proposed a manufacturing risk evaluation method termed EE-RJMTFN ( E xtension E valuation based on R eciprocal J udging M atrix with T riangular F uzzy N umbers) for addressing this problem in CMfg.…”
