работе * (см. также 2 , стр. 471). Различные аспекты двухфотонного меха-низма рождения во встречных пучках в последние годы рассматривались в большом числе работ (см., например, 3~13 ). Следует отметить также, в связи с возможностью экспериментального исследования взаимодействия л-мезонов и фотонов, реальную перспективу создания в ближайшие годы интенсивных мезонных ./£· пучков средних энергий («π-мезонные фабрики»).С введением в эксплуатацию «мезонных фабрик» станет возможным изучение с высокой точностью ряда из рассматриваемых амплитуд в кулоновском рассеянии л-мезонов на нуклонах и атомных ядрах (рис. 9). Экспериментальное изучение процессов кулоновского рождения на ядрах, по-видимому, достаточно реально и в настоящее время. Амплитуды на рис. 2, 4, 5, 7 можно исследо-вать также в реакциях фоторождения л-мезонов в кулоновском поле ядра. Так, эффект Прима-кова 14 -фоторождение одиночного л-мезона в ку-лоновском поле -в настоящее время является основным методом изме-рения времени жизни л°-мезона (см. 15 ). Процессы на рис. 1-7 представляют собой богатый и интересный объект изучения с теоретической точки зрения. Градиентная инвариант-ность и низкоэнергетическая π-мезонная техника позволяют установить связи между рассматриваемыми амплитудами и сделать ряд утвержде-ЭЛЕКТРОМАГНИТНЫЕ СВОЙСТВА π-МЕЗОНОВ 39 ний, имеющих весьма высокую точность. Некоторые особенности этих амплитуд отражают глубокие динамические свойства сильных взаимодей-ствий.Отмеченные обстоятельства послужили причиной появления обшир-ной литературы. Результаты ряда авторов в значительной степени пере-крываются. К сожалению, в этом потоке имеется также большое число ошибочных работ. Словом, налицо обычная картина, являющаяся след-ствием спешки и толчеи, хотя в этом смысле ситуация не является столь напряженной, как в некоторых других, более «модных» областях.К настоящему моменту вопрос, по-видимому, в большой степени исчер-пан, и можно привести теоретические результаты, относящиеся к каж-дому из процессов на рис. 1-7. Это, а также качественное обсуждение в ряде случаев возможностей экспериментального измерения является основным содержанием настоящего обзора.Поскольку многие из рассматриваемых процессов связаны с амплиту-дой ππ-рассеяния, мы обсуждаем также (весьма кратко) современную тео-ретическую и экспериментальную информацию о ππ-взаимодействии.Следует подчеркнуть, что взаимодействия фотонов и π-мезонов при низких энергиях являются в каком-то смысле замкнутой областью физики. Все рассматриваемые амплитуды могут быть вычислены с использованием ограниченного набора исходных гипотез. Эти гипотезы не являются произвольными. A confined quark model study in a couple of chirally anomalous processes is presented in comparison with effective meson Lagrangian approaches of various kind. The processes considered are π 0 → γγ and γ → π + π − π 0 (or the equivalent πγ → ππ) for which there is a well-known low energy theorem relating the latter amplitude with the former one by a very simple algebraic relation in the zero energy (or chiral, or soft pion) limit. Our quark model naturally generates the so-called contact term in the amplitude for the second process, but with the opposite sign to what effective chiral meson models indicate. A reinterpretation of our vector pole contribution restores the consistency, however. While the first reaction is observed to serve in calibrating various models, it is found difficult, based upon the quality of the existing data in the second reaction, to single out the best model, which appears indispensable for testing the validity of the above low energy theorem. Thus the proposed experiments and their analyses should aim at attaining an optimal accuracy.

On the basis of a quark model of superconductivity type, effective chiral Lagrangians are obtained for strong, electromagnetic and weak interactions of scalar, pseudoscalar, vector and axial vector meson nonets at low energies. The spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry plays an important role. The form factors of strong and electromagnetic vertices, meson masses and different types of meson decaysare discussed.
