Producers and drivers of odor compounds in a large drinking-water source

Abstract: IntroductionTaste and odor (T&O) problems have been affecting drinking water safety. As a eutrophicated drinking water reservoir in Tianjin city, the Yuqiao Reservoir was threatened by 2-MIB and geosmin in recent years.MethodsIn this study, quantile regression analysis and metagenome were used to quickly and accurately screen the producers and drivers of 2-MIB and geosmin in this reservoir.ResultsThe mean concentrations of 2-MIB and geosmin in the four-year were 103.58 ± 128.13 ng/L and 14.29 ± 27.95 n… Show more

“…ION displayed no correlation with SUVA in either Songhua Lake or Chaohu Lake [ 22 ]. Moving on to COD, GSM exhibited a positive correlation with it in Yuqiao Reservoir [ 74 ], while MIB demonstrated a positive correlation with COD in DECL in China (this study) and Yuqiao Reservoir [ 74 ]. In DECL in China, GSM, CYC, and ION were found to be unrelated to COD (this study).…”
