The literature on product-based workflow design considers only static collaborative environments where the product model is static and does not change. However the possible evolution of the product model and thus its impact on the collaborative environment are not considered despite the importance of this evolution for innovative product design. As a result the uncontrolled changes can easily break the crossorganizational process that links the different stakeholders in the collaborative environment. In this paper we present a framework that builds the collaboration contract from the product model and supports a controlled evolution of this contract. We leverage this framework by a set of management operations (services) that enable the contract evolution and investigate how a tailoring operation will not impact the executable cross-organizational process unless this process is maintained executable by the workflow engine. These operations are provided as services by a collaborative platform and displayed through a standard-based user interface.

In order to improve the efficiency of building a real-time performance monitoring system in collaboration business process environment, a framework integrated with the collaboration business process system based on artifact-centric collaboration (ACC) model is prompted. With the view information of ACC model, a rule-based method is proposed to collect real-time data and the monitoring system is abstracted as a monitoring model. After the monitoring designer defines a monitoring model according to monitoring requirements, the monitoring model is automatically transformed to the technical specification of the monitoring system. With this framework, the monitor designer can focus on designing the monitoring model other than details of the technical specification. There is no need to negotiate with collaborative partner from design to deployment without risk of privacy leakage. This approach both increases the agility of the monitoring system and reduces the difficulty in building a monitoring system.

Cloud computing is a new benchmark towards enterprise application development that can effectively facilitate the execution of workflows in business process management systems. Workflow applications often require very complex execution environments that are difficult to create otherwise. Integration of the workflow management systems for application deployment with any of the cloud platforms is a tedious task. Therefore, various cloud services are required to execute workflows along with workflow management software in cloud environment. In this paper, a comparative analysis of workflow design approaches has been discussed .This paper presents the challenges for implementing workflows in cloud computing and state of the art of workflow design along with a comparison of various workflow engines available. Design of workflow for a real time application has also been discussed with the help of a case study. The experimental results demonstrate how workflow for enterprise applications can be designed, validated, implemented and deployed on any major cloud infrastructures.
