“…It should be highlighted that some of the main degradation products of CLQ ( m / z = 320.19, C 18 H 26 ClN 3 ) identified by LC-QTOF-MS with no-CLQ culture as the background control, e.g., m / z = 114.09, C 7 H 16 N, might promote the activity of catalase, , an enzyme that is widely spread in microorganisms and essential for activated sludge-based wastewater treatment, and alleviate the inhibition of hydrogen peroxide on N 2 O reduction during the denitrification process of Thiobacillus denitrificans . Such an inference suggested that the formed CLQ biodegradation products might affect N 2 O production through the aforementioned AOB denitrification pathway.…”

“…In a study performed by Sharma et al [ 46 ], other consortia of microalgae were cultured in diluted municipal wastewater, and the highest mean chlorophyll concentration (25.2 mg L −1 ) was observed. Scenedesmus acuminatus culture accumulated the highest concentration of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b (59.9 ± 3.5, 18.4 ± 3.6 mg L −1 , respectively) when cultivated in 50% synthetic municipal wastewater, while the maximum concentration of carotenoids was obtained in 75% and 100% synthetic wastewater (20.1 ± 0.4 mg L −1 and 19.8 ± 0.1 mg L −1 , respectively) [ 47 ]. The authors noted that an increase in the concentration of wastewater increases the stress index, which may explain the intense accumulation of carotenoids in highly concentrated nutrient media.…”

“…Generation of ethanol from algal feedstock has been an interesting research topic in recent days. A number of works on ethanol production using various algal feedstocks have been carried out [7,82]. Figure 4 illustrates the schematic representation of ethanol production from algal species.…”

“…Further, generated ethanol was characterized by GC-MS. Very recently, Onay and Aladag [7] used Scenedesmus acuminatus CCALA436 grown in wastewater and mepiquat chloride for the production of ethanol (Table 2). When compared with green algal species, the other groups of algal species are less focused with respect to ethanol production due to their variation in carbohydrate content.…”
