Production of modified basalt fibre for heat-insulating products manufacturing

Abstract: As a result of the research flexible heat-insulating materials were developed based on basalt fiber with increased effectiveness, which can be achieved due to directed fiber microstructure forming through fusion modification. It is known that chemical composition of initial fusion not identically influences on physical and chemical and mechanical properties of basaltic fibres. Structural descriptions of fusion and basaltic fibre got from him appear main factors the nearer, than high speed of cooling. This inde… Show more

“…An unprotected timber sample was found to be capable of igniting and spreading flames around the surface after ignition, causing the structure to collapse [1,2]. The use of heat-insulating materials makes it possible to slow down the warming of the material and to retain its functions in case of a fire for a specified period but requires considerable costs [3,4]. In addition, the temperature of separate combustive substances by far exceeds the hydrocarbon flame [5].…”

“…The ecological benefits of AASC's are caused by reduction of CO 2 emission while consumption of by-products as well as waste products [13]. AASC mortars and concretes are characterized by increased strength [14], heat resistance [15,16], corrosion resistance [17], freeze-thaw resistance [18], waterproof [19] and fire resistance [20,21] in comparison with analogues based on traditional clinker cements. Beside of high performances, AASC's can be used in decorative materials [22].…”
