Productivity of giant micancantus and soil fertility status for fertilizer application

Abstract: Miscanthus giant is a tall perennial herbaceous plant with a well-developed root system, which is used for biofuel production. The aim of the study was to establish the effect of gi-ant miscanthus in the first year of growing season on the state of soil organic matter, removal and balance of nutrients and biological productivity of crops for fertilization. A four-year survey of the condition of miscanthus plantations was conducted at ‘Veselo Podilska’ research and breeding station during 2016‒2019 … Show more

“…To improve the efficiency of crop growth and development, microorganisms are used to enhance their nutrition Prysiazhniuk & Penkova, 2022). This is evidenced by long-term studies with miscanthus conducted in the United States, which show that microbial communities are formed in the endophytic zone of the soil, which have a close correlation with the total number of bacteria and diazotrophs in the rhizosphere of the root system (Ivanina et al, 2021). The results of studies conducted in Germany (Semenchuk et al, 2021) proved the existence of specific N-fixing bacterial species in miscanthus rhizomes, which can fix nitrogen in organ-specific bacterial communities formed in their zone.…”
