Products Distribution in Methanol to Gasoline over HZSM-5 Catalysts with Different Si/Al Ratio

Abstract: Hydrocarbon fuels produced from methanol was investigated over HZSM-5 zeolite catalysts with different Si/Al ratio. About 40% of hydrocarbon yield can be obtained under the identical reaction condition over the catalysts. HZSM-5 catalyst with lower Si/Al ratio has slightly higher oil yield and less olefin content in gas products, which can be ascribed to the stronger acidity in the catalyst favorable for the conversion of intermediates to aromatics. In addition, a small amount of dimethyl ether (DME) was detec… Show more

“…Its total hydrocarbons content reached 99.0% with a higher aliphatic hydrocarbon content of 9.4%. Compared with the co-cracking of ketones and methanol, the cracking of methanol alone under 400 °C/2MPa produced a better quality gasoline phase in which the content of aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons were 65.0% and 35.0%, respectively (Zhu et al 2012).…”
