Hasil pengolahan cacahan plastik PP (Polypropylene) berupa BBM diuji secara laboratorium apakah sesuai dengan spesifikasi BBM yang ditetapkan oleh BP MIGAS (Badan Pelaksana Kegiatan Usaha Hulu Minyak dan Gas Bumi) atau tidak, itulah salah satu latar belakang alat ini perlu diuji atau tidak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui spesifikasi BBM (Bahan Bakar Minyak)yang dihasilkan dari alat pirolisis ini dan mengetahui kapasitas alat yang telah dibuat. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menguji BBM yang dihasilkan dari alat pirolisis dengan lima pengujian yaitu Density, Viskositas, Flash Point, SG (Spesifik Grafity) dan API (American Petroleum Institute). Masing masing pengujian dengan lima sampel uji sesuai dengan lama waktu pemanasan limbah plastik dalam ruang reaktor. Dari hasil pengujian diperoleh nilai Density 0,7384 gr/cc, SG sebesar 0,7406, API 59,57, Viskositas sebesar 0,8145 cp serta Flash Point 200 C. Kesimpulan diperoleh bahwa nilai Density tidak memenuhi standar BP MIGAS, nilai Viskositas yang diperoleh dari pengujian sebesar 0,455CP dan nilai tersebut sudah memenuhi standar BP MIGAS dan nilai Flash Point yang diperoleh dari pengujian sebesar 200C dengan nilai tersebut sudah memenuhi standar BP MIGAS yaitu sebesar 310C.

The need for quicklime has led to increased utilization of used oil as a substitute for fuel in its combustion process. Mahaka Lime Factory produces SO2 and NOX, which are emitted through the chimney and proportional to lime burning. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the distribution of the emission concentration in the ambient air. One of the methods used to facilitate the monitoring process to ensure it is kept below the quality standard is dispersion modeling. This is an analytical model processed with the help of AERMOD software and the Gaussian equation. The SO2 concentrations of 0.001 mg/m3 and 0.001 mg/m3, as well as NOX of 0.027 mg/m3 and 0.044 mg/m3 obtained from the calculation, were below the applicable quality standard. Furthermore, emission concentrations directly observed were more significant than the Gaussian modeling results due to the presence of other pollutants around the factory. In conclusion, the dispersion modeling using AERMOD software showed that the largest and lowest distribution of emission concentrations are in the cliff area around the emission source and on the ground surface close to the chimney.

Pyrolysis is the one solution to recycle hydrocarbon-based waste material such as used lubricant and cooking oil. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of temperature and sample ratio on the liquid yields of a mixture of used lubricant and cooking oil. The semibatch reactor was used with a constant nitrogen flow rate of 5 mL/min. Three different ratios of sample mixture were applied in this experiment: 0.5:1, 1:1, and 1.5:1, and three different temperatures: 4000C, 4500C, and 5000C. The thermal pyrolysis of a mixture of used lubricant and cooking oil was deemed as the most effective pyrolysis to produce liquid fraction was obtained from reaction condition with the sample mixture ratio of 0.5:1 at 5000C. At this reaction condition, the liquid yields was 58.90% which consist of 64.12% were C1-C3 and 29.54% were C5-C15. Liquid fraction is predicted to increase as the temperature increase and the ratio of used lubricant to cooking oil decrease. When the ratio is increased , more gas fraction is produced.
