Professionals' perspectives on relevant approaches to psychological care in moral injury: A qualitative study

Abstract: Objectives: Despite the increasing consensus that moral injury (MI) is a unique type of psychological stressor, there is an ongoing debate about best practices for psychological care. “…To respond to this gap, Restore and Rebuild (R&R) was developed as a treatment for moral injury-related mental health difficulties. R&R was codesigned with international leading experts in the field of moral injury 35 as well as UK military veterans with lived experience of PMIE exposure and moral injury. 23 Data from a phase 1, feasibility pilot study indicated that the 20-session R&R treatment was acceptable and well tolerated by veteran patients who also reported a significant reduction in symptoms post-treatment.…”
