Abstract:Background: Rhinosinusitis is an inflammatory condition of the nasal and paranasal sinus mucosa. Based on the duration of the disease, rhinosinusitis is divided into two types: acute rhinosinusitis and chronic rhinosinusitis. Acute rhinosinusitis occurs within a period of less than 12 weeks, while chronic rhinosinusitis persists for more than 12 weeks.
