Abstract: Canine atopic dermatitis (AD) is an IgE-mediated type I hypersensitivity reaction to sensitization to environmental allergens. Pathogenesis is quite complex, involving genetic and environmental factors, food allergens, skin barrier defects and immune dysfunction.
