Prognostic role of the lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio in patients undergoing resection for nonmetastatic rectal cancer

Abstract: Lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) was associated with survival benefit in some types of cancer. The relationship between LMR and rectal cancer has not been investigated. Koh et al 19 described patients with diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and reported conclusions similar to ours, which indicated that the prognostic significance of the LMR in DLBCL patients was age dependent, as the LMR was significantly different between DLBCL patients younger than and at least 70 years of age who received rituximab plus CHOP (R-CHOP) therapy (<30.4 VS <2.36), and the LMR values were significantly lower in the ≥70-year-old group than in the <70-year-old group.…”
